Currently crime statistics show that effective burglary protection has never been more important when looking at Europe in general. The new Twin-Cam Security Lock (TSL) from Roto is considered to set a new benchmark in respect of burglar-proof outward opening PVC,timber and aluminium windows starting from a width and height of 305 mm.
The Roto TSL security espagnolette is characterised by a special one-piece espagnolette connecting rod with up to eight locking points and is based on the Roto NT technology. If the window handle is turned, the geared mechanism actuates four adjustable, reverse-action twin cams. This provides PAS 24:2012 accreditation and security, by increasing the sash’s gasket-compression on the frame.
Even with the application of great force, two screws fix the twin cams’ strikers to the profile and will prevent them from twisting. The Roto TSL security espagnolette has left-right or double-sided strikers, windows fitted with this security espagnolette also provide an integrated night ventilation function.
Security remains a focus for so many as the world changes, however, one recent humorous anecdote we discovered was by an American locksmith, who was called by woman, claiming she had lost her keys to her house. It turned out that she was a soon-to-be ex-wife who was making a point to her soon-to-be ex-husband. How was this discovered? The husband called the locksmith later that evening from the same address with the same request. His response was to refer him to a ‘friendly’ competitor.
